It's been almost a month since our last meeting, as we accommodated Rob's absence two weeks ago by not having a meeting. However, our next scheduled meeting is scheduled for 14-March, or in the United States, 3/14—also known as Pi Day. We encourage everyone to attend live; virtual pi will be provided.
Issue triage
COM+ v4 - ComPlusPartition causes duplicate symbols, Dependency v4 - Binder isn't implemented, Tools v4 - SuppressIces is broken, Gaming v4 - Doesn't create shortcut, v4 - Can't compile loc string in number column, and Tag v4 - Binder isn't implemented were all opened by @rseanhall as he created the microrepos for the remaining extensions for WiX v4. Rob graciously volunteered to take most of them, then when volunteers failed to materialize, somewhat graciously volunteered to take the rest.
Cancel during EXE package doesn't rollback the package, from @nirbar, prompted a fascinating mini design discussion about why we thought Burn was doing some things but not doing other things. (Well, I thought it was fascinating, anyway.) We concluded that we needed to dig deeper into Burn to see figure out more whys and whether Burn needs to make different conclusions. Having found it fascinating, I assigned the bug to myself and will investigate.
IIS-Extension could not locate the website, from @hypetsch, uncomfortably straddled the divide between bug report and request for support. In the ensuing discussion, experts in WixIIsExtension concluded the behavior is as expected, even if imperfect. The report did highlight that some functionality is undocumented, so we took it into WiX v4.x to rectify.
