In a change of pace, we have a few issues to triage during this meeting and even closed out our months-old "to be discussed" issue. And now we're back to zero issues!
Issue triage
Extensions should version their ids, from yours truly, finally came back around with its own discussion. In the end, we decided that table names and custom action ids would get a
Wix4prefix and an architecture-specific suffix. Assemblies and NuGet packages will be namedWixToolset.Extensionwithv4.x.yversioning.WixCreateInternetShortcuts: Error 0x80070057: failed to set shortcut, from @kmackey1, reports an error trying to install an Internet shortcut on a particular localized OS. That'll be difficult to reproduce but prompted the idea that we should have a way to prevent shortcut failures from rolling back the installation. We took the issue into WiX v4.x.
ExecXmlFile fails for ARM64 MSIs and Compiler doesn't step version up to 500 for ARM64 MSIs, both from @marswe, reports a couple of minor issues with the newly-released build of WiX v3.14 with ARM64 support. I took both issues for investigation and quick fixes.
