Today's meeting was the shortest we've had in a while. We accomplished this not by talking faster or cutting microphones when I start to ramble but by cutting items from the agenda. See you next time, design discussions! Try it during your next remote meeting.
Issue triage
Dynamically update the License agreement content, from @Mitkari, is a request to automatically replace copyright dates with the current year at install time. Besides being a bit of a pain to actually implement, the triage team thought it wasn't a good idea to munge legal documents on the fly. We declined this request.
Port WixStdBA "files in use" page to Wix4, from @gvkries, points out that the files-in-use UI (that the reporter implemented in WiX v3) has not been implemented in WiX v4. Sean pointed out some problems with the existing implementation in both WixStdBA and Burn itself in handling of files-in-use messages with and without Restart Manager being involved. I volunteered to take a look at a low-cost implementation to make sure WiX v4 doesn't accidentally lose functionality.
Asp.Net MSI installer exit with error code: MSI (s) Doing action:StartIIS7ConfigTransaction -- Error 26031. Failed to schedule transaction for changes to IIS. (-2147418113 ), from @venkatEngx, is a bug report but without enough information to diagnose the problem. We asked for more information -- please fill out the bug template that shows up when you open a new issue on GitHub! -- and will revisit.
Speaking of triage, we also concluded our triage of existing WiX v4.0 issues -- and there was much rejoicing! We're now on top of all issues we've put into the WiX v4.0 milestone and will keep on top of new ones as they come in.
